FINGAL LUXURY HOME

Located along the northern New South Wales coastline, this residence at Fingal, Tweed Heads responds to a highly exposed coastal environment, where intense sun, salt air and humidity place constant pressure on exterior materials.

Timber is used extensively throughout the project, both externally and internally, to create a warm, natural aesthetic that connects the home to its surroundings. With large areas of exposed timber, selecting a coating system that could perform reliably in these conditions was critical.

Externally, timber surfaces were protected using CUTEK® Extreme together with a Colourtone (Goldtone), enhancing the natural warmth of the wood while providing added UV protection. This helps maintain the freshly oiled appearance for longer in a high-UV coastal setting.

Internally, CUTEK® Extreme was used in its clear form, allowing the timber to retain its natural tone while benefiting from deep penetration and moisture control.

The result is a cohesive material finish across the home, where timber is protected from within while maintaining a consistent, natural appearance inside and out.
